Angel Red pomegranate is available at Costco Stores.
How big are they when purchased?
They are in 1 gallon containers and about 16'' in height.
What is the difference between the two types?
There are two varieties, Wonderful and Angel Red.
Wonderful is the most widely planted commercial variety in California. It has a glossy appearance with a deep red or purple color. The large, deep-red fruit matures in late September and October. It yields large, juicy, red kernels with small seeds.
Matures late. Juice is made into grenadine syrup. The patent is expired.
Angel Red is a new variety with a greater juice content and soft seeds for delicious eating. This early maturing, prolific fruit is uniform in size and has a bright red color. The variety Angel Red, patented by grower Greg Smith, is currently having its DNA blueprint established.
