Becca
Dianella caerulea
Description
A medium-textured, strappy leafed, tough, shiny dark green plant with erect foliage. Beautiful, exquisite sprays of soft blue flowers with yellow throats, followed by blue berries in the spring. Patent Pending.
Uses
Ideal for mass planting or specimen planting in garden beds and borders. An excellent container plant. A great alternative for shrubs, liriope and groundcovers. Has perfect complementary texture to Breeze in mass plantings. Thrives well in full sun to part shade. Performs well in heavy clay or sandy soils.
Climatic
Tolerates heavy frost, drought, and hot and/or humid conditions. Evergreen in normal winters to 24º F. Zones 8b-11. Perennial through Zone 6? Medium growth rate. 2-3' high x 2' wide. Space 2-3' for optimum growth.
Care
Low maintenance. Plant Becca no deeper than the existing soil level to prevent covering the crown of the plant. Once established, very little care is needed. Fertilize as needed with a slow release fertilizer. Container grown plants will require regular watering; garden plants will require less water once established.
