- Description
- A distinctive, compact, soft blue, medium textured, strappy leaf
plant with an impressive display of superior cobalt blue and yellow-throated
flowers in early spring to summer. The flowers are an added bonus
to the striking blue color. Patent Pending.
- Uses
- Beautiful color-contrasting plant ideal for mass, group, or border
plantings. Makes an excellent container or single specimen plant.
A great alternative for shrubs, liriopes, and groundcovers. Thrives
well in full sun to part shade. Performs well in sand or clay soils.
- Climatic
- Drought tolerant once established. Tolerates heavy frost and
hot and/or humid conditions. Evergreen in normal winters to 24º F.
Zones 8b-11. Perennial through Zone 6? Slow growth rate. 1-1 1/2' high
x 1 1/2' wide. Space 2-3' for optimum performance.
- Care
- Low maintenance. Plant CassaBlue no deeper than the existing
soil level to prevent covering the crown of the plant. Trim older
leaves as required to maintain a neat appearance. Fertilize as
needed with a slow release fertilizer. Container grown plants will
require regular watering; garden plants will require less water
once established.
